Sweet Istria in Vižinada
The festival of traditional Istrian pastries, Sweet Istria, has been held since 1997. Year after year on the Feast of the Assumption this event takes place at one of the most famous wells (šterna) in Istria, in the central square in Vižinada. It is a meeting place for housewives from all over Istria, true culinary artists, as well as all lovers of homemade pastries.
This festival of pastries is an exhibition of typical Istrian pastries: fritule, kroštule, cukerančići, pandešpanja, povetica, pinca and several kinds of dry pastries called sweet Istrian “užanca”.
