Parenzana in Vižinada

The Parenzana recreational cycling marathon traditionally draws over a thousand cyclists and enthusiasts from Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, and beyond. Following the historic route of the former narrow-gauge railway line Parenzana, this iconic ride is fondly known as the “Queen” of recreational cycling in Istria.

The journey begins in the main square of Vižinada, taking riders on a scenic 46-kilometer adventure along paved roads through the enchanting Istrian countryside. The Parenzana route winds through Karojba, Motovun, Istarske Toplice, Livade, and Ponte Porton, before circling back to Vižinada.

For those who prefer to explore on foot, a guided walking tour of approximately 10 kilometres is also available, starting at 10:15.
