Vižinada – Bike Trail 101

With gentle climbs and a combination of gravel and asphalt surfaces, the trail offers a natural rhythm suited to both recreational riders and experienced cyclists. Along the way, you’ll encounter stunning viewpoints, around ten historical churches and chapels, local restaurants, and cozy accommodations. Several photo points are clearly marked, inviting you to capture the beauty of the Istrian landscape. For those looking to enrich the experience with local stories and insights, guided tours can be arranged through the tourist information center.

The “Vižinada” bike trail (101) is 24 kilometers long and connects with several other routes. Starting from the town square, follow the road toward Buje. After approximately 5 kilometers, turn left onto a country path heading toward Vrbani and Nardući. The next 10 kilometers are on paved roads passing through Bajkini, Vranje Selo, Markovići, Ćuki, and Brdo. At the barrier, turn left onto a gravel road, then right after 1.1 kilometers to reach the Vrbanovica viewpoint. Return along the same path to Mezgeci and continue toward Tadini near Kaštelir. In Tadini, turn left and cycle for 3 kilometers through Baldaši. After crossing the main road in Lašići, turn left again toward Staniši and follow the road to the main route to Ferenci. From Ferenci, turn left and at the intersection join the former narrow-gauge railway route of Parenzana. From here, continue along the trail to the right, back to Vižinada.

Along this trail, you’ll find around ten historic churches and chapels, markets, restaurants, and places to stay in Vižinada and Kaštelir. Five designated photo points offer breathtaking views of the unique Istrian countryside. A local guide can also be arranged through the tourist information center for those seeking a more personalized cycling experience.
