Poreč Heritage Museum
The Poreč Heritage Museum is the oldest museum in Istria, founded in 1884. It is housed in the 18th century Baroque Palace of Sinčić.
The museum's primary mission is expert-based collection, preservation and exploration of historical and cultural achievements in Poreč and its surrounding area, and their presentation to the public through expert articles, scientific papers and other relevant publications.
Today the museum boasts 41 collections with more than 15,000 artefacts dating from prehistoric times to the present day, exhibited in five sections: Archaeology, Ethnography, Gallery, History, and Cultural History.
It is closed for visitors due to the building renovation and the development of a new permanent exhibition. Our expert staff members will gladly assist any interested visitors during the office hours.
GUIDED TOURS:
Organised guided tours are available by appointment only. Both group and private guided tours can be organised for a visit to: Istrian Parliament Hall, Romanesque house, Euphrasian Basilica, the old town and temporary exhibitions.
Guided tours are available in Croatian, Italian and English.
- The cost of expert guidance for a group of up to 30 visitors: HRK 300.00
- The cost of expert guidance for a group of more than 30 visitors: HRK 10.00 per person
- Primary and secondary schools from Poreč and the surrounding areas can enjoy free guided tours.
INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES:
The museum is situated in a building of historic interest in which it is not possible to add an elevator. To visitors with disabilities we offer guided tours of the old town.
